O’s Notes: This session features Connick leading a large ensemble! They play a mix of originals and standards. The music is very dynamic. There’s an underlying Creole feel (intended) to many of the tunes. “Luscious”, “Bourbon Street Parade” and “Panama” are prime examples with sharp accents and a mysterious allure. Other swingers are “That’s A Plenty” and “Ash Wednesday”. Harry shows us yet another dimension in his array of skills. This venture to Bourbon Street with a big band celebrates the crescent city with big sound.
