O’s Notes: D.C. is an inspired popular music vocalist singing a collection of thirteen selections with a goo message. He uses a minimal approach that allows us to focus on the lyrics. His partners are Deanna Witkowski (p, vocals), David Robison (p), Ritt Henn (b) and Geoff Packard (g, vocals). Guest Suzy Perelman adds violin on “From A Porch Swing”. They swing on “I’m Right” with Witkowski and Henn pushing the pace. But Close Companions is mostly easy listening pop/folk music. Among the best are “First To Go” and “God’s Will”.
