O’s Notes: This session combines swinging standards with ballads featuring the young Jeremy Pelt on trumpet. His sound is rich and mellow. He uses strings as romantic accents along with the excellent rhythm section of Mulgrew Miller (p), Peter Washington (b) and Lewis Nash (d). Washington has a nice solo on “Excerent” while Miller and Nash take the spotlight on “Take Me In Your Arms”. This sharing continues throughout the set with Jeremy shining all the way through!
