O’s Notes: Seth Kibel plays clarinet and flute leading the melodies across eleven modern jazz and klezmer classics. He leads two distinct quartets, one with Harry Appelman (p), Jeff Reed (b), and Joey Antico (d), the other, with Sean Lane (p), Bob Abbot (b), and Wes Crawford (d). Clown With A Stick is mostly traditional, festive, Jewish music but also includes four Kibel originals notably “Waltz Of The Rejected” and “12-Bar Schmooze”, and a cover of “I Heard It Through The Grapevine”.
