O’s Notes: Drummer and bandleader Bob Holz teams up with producer vocalist Rob Stathis and a long list of guest musicians for the Holz-Stathis Collaborative. Randy Brecker (t), Dean Brown (g) and Ric Fierabracci (b) star on “The Tunnel”. Elliott Yasmin, Diana Moreira and Stathis sing on “Back To You” with a strong solo by Brown. Brandon Fields (fl, sax) softens “Wondering”, “You Can Get It” & “Better Try”. We also enjoyed “Side Scratch” with Brown, Brecker, and Ada Rovatti (sax). Those are of the highlights in a strong fusion set.
