O’s Notes: Pianist Geoffrey Dean leads a quartet with trumpeter Justin Copeland, bassist Harish Raghavan, and drummer Eric Binder. The ten selections are all original, 5 from Dean, 3 from Copeland and 2 from Binder. Copeland’s tone is soft, warm, and inviting on “Amidst A Dream” and “Road To Somewhere”. Dean compliments his melodies gliding across the keyboard on mid-tempo tunes like “Conflagration” while swinging on “Prism” and “Phoenix Rising”. This is a very good mix collectively.
