O’s Notes: We listened to this one on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Perfect! It is relaxing and inoffensive. Stein recorded it while on tour in Brazil with Brazilian musicians notably bassist Frank Hertzberg and drummer Zé Eduardo Nazario. Pianist Alexandre Zamith also does a nice job on “Sometime Ago”. So there is a decided air of bossa nova but not exclusively. Stein adds some New Orleans flavor on “Happy Hour” and more traditional “Blues in Maude’s Flat” to balance a good session.
