O’s Notes: Bassist Christian Fabian brings a driving funky bass line to this set. He wrote most of the music and it has a fresh inviting groove. They swing on “The Rooster” and “Crawl To Finish” featuring Bill Vent blowing melodies on both tenor sax and bass clarinet. Among the best of the rest are the opener “Streaming” with an excellent solo from Fabian and “Too Good”. These songs have good hooks and the rhythms are tight. Add Christian to your list of hot jazz bassists!
