O’s Notes: This is a formidable German quartet led by pianist/composer Edgar Knecht. Rolf Denecke plays bass with Tobaias Schulte on drums and percussionist Stephan Emig. This is a well-oiled band that plays with great precision and wonderful dynamics. The songs are centered on deep human emotions and while this is all instrumental, we felt all of the intended drama. Of note are “Gedankenfreiheit”, “Fenjas Lullaby” and “Frühling” in a set with no losers.
