O’s Notes: We are graced with the rich vocals of singer, songwriter (and activist) Dara Starr Tucker in her new, self-titled release. She is supported by James Hurt, Aaron Parks or Mike King on piano, bassists Vicente Archer or Greg Bryant, and drummer Marcus Finnie. They open (and close) with the relaxed, inspirational “Scars”. All the lyrics are heartfelt and relevant. Dara adds a taste of gospel on “Just A Closer Walk With Thee”, and romantic moments on “If You Asked Me To”.
