O’s Notes: Guitarist Joe Marcinek leads the Dead Funk Summit, a series of live shows with a different set of musicians for each performance. They merge Grateful Dead rock, blues, funk, and jazz-fusion to create memorable experiences. This edition features George Porter, Jr. (b), Melvin Seals (Hammond), Michael Lemler (keyboards) and Terence Houston (d). Tony Hall sings the blues on “Fever Dream”, and “Still Got It” backed by Marcinek and the band. We liked Melvin Scales work on the B3 on “Probably Nothing” and “Melameter”. We envision their live show is a blast!
