O’s Notes: DSQ is Graeme Blevins (ss), Chris Caldwell (bs), Tim Holmes (ts) and Pete Whyman (as). They are a British jazz-rock band inspired by another legendary British band: Soft Machine. They play some rock-fusion but it quickly dissipates into free jazz. And it gets deeper with every track approaching utter chaos on “You”. We liked “Mousetrap” best. Buckle your seat belts; this is indeed music on the edge.
