O’s Notes: The luscious sound from his horn, his piercing stare, success with media, appeal to the ladies, heroin addiction and his untimely drug related death all characterize Chet Baker. This collection captures it all. The best are his work in the early 50’s and we prefer his horn to his blue vocals. But there’s no doubt that when Chet was on, he was exceptional.
