O’s Notes: Doug’s self-titled new release includes a range of blues and pop jazz with a strong dose of country swing. Wamble is a singer, guitarist and composer from Tennessee. His core band is Roy Dunlap (p), Jeff Hanley (b) and Peter Miles (d). They open with the blues of “Think About It” including a guest appearance from Charlie Hunter (g). From there Doug sings about many of his life’s choices both good and bad. We enjoyed “Bitter Angels”, another blues track and the New Orleans’s groove of “I Needn’t Try”.
