O’s Notes: Fo/Mo/Deep is the brainchild of Ron Holmes (b, t). He assembles a team that includes Kevin Jones (keyboards), Keith Newton (sax), Andre Scott (d). N. Michael Goecke (tb, vocals) and Kenneth Pouncey (perc). They lay down ten funky jazzy tunes along with two live tracks from the 2010 Columbia Arts Festival. Our favorites are “Drinks@8”, “Slap That Thang”, the instrumental cover of “Expansions” and “Mitch Betta’ Have My Bunny”. They have an infectious groove!
