O’s Notes: Club d’Elf is a band of rotating musicians led by Mike Rivard (sinter) and including first-call artists such as John Medeski and DJ Logic. They play a mix of African, Moroccan jazz and funk. There are two discs, Electric Moroccoland and So Below. Each has a different character with the later leaning more towards contemporary acid jazz. We particularly enjoyed “Sidi Rabi”, “Sand”, “Bendir Done That”, “So Below” and “Salvia”. These guys will take you into a different direction for sure and their live tour should be engaging this summer.
