O’s Notes: Pearl Django is a quintet with Rick Leppanen (b), David Lange (accordion), Troy Chapman (g), Ryan Hoffman (g) and Michael Gray (v). Eleven is their eleventh album and their experience shows! They are a tight team absent of any showboating, just warm tones and great, mostly original gypsy music. They take it up a notch with special guest Martin Taylor (g) on three selections most notably “Serafina” rounding out a fine session.
