O’s Notes: Pianist Manuel Valera leads a septet that includes guitarist Tom Guarana and Yosvany Terry (sax). Valera composed and arranged all of the music except a cover of “La Gloria Eres Tu” which features Manueal Valera Sr. on alto sax! The program is lively especially on “Isabelita”, “Jben Timbus” and “En Cinco”. It is easy to embrace with cool riffs throughout the set.
