O’s Notes: Veteran pianist David Leonhardt takes the stage with Matthew Parrish (b) and Alvester Garnett (d). They perform a dozen relaxing pop ballads, both originals and an excellent selection of covers. James Taylor’s “Fire And Rain”, George Harrison’s “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” and Horace Silver’s “Peace” are some of the fresh arrangements. They complement Leonhardt’s “Late Night Blues”, “Winter Waltz” and the title track making a pleasant program. It is not too complex yet not overly smooth; it’s just right!
