O’s Notes: Bay-area vocalist Chloe Jean Bermudez makes her jazz debut with help from producer, guitarist, keyboardist Ray Obiedo. Dan Feiszil (b), Peter Horvath (keyboards), Peter Michael Escovedo (congas, perc), and Jason Lewis (d) are among many talented musicians supporting the effort, eleven selections including six originals. They are soulful vocals, with rich harmonization on “Fairy Tale Fail”, that extends throughout the session. “Don’t Know Why” features sax shadowing from Charles McNeal. We also enjoyed freshly arranged classics like “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face”, and “Cry Me A River” featuring Mike Olmos on flugelhorn.
