O’s Notes: 74-year-old, Jazz drummer Alvin Queen has lived in Switzerland since 1979 and has enjoyed a stellar career playing with a “Who’s Who” of jazz artists from Dizzy Gillespie to George Benson! On this release, he plays with Carlton Holmes (p) and Danton Boller (b) in a trio that sounds much larger! The program is a collection of mostly refreshed standards that are easily embraceable. We enjoyed the gentle sway on “Waltz for Ahmad”, “Love Will Find A Way”, and “Out Of This World”. Feeling Good really does!
