O’s Notes: They start out cooking on Bill Evans’ “The Opener”, an appropriate beginning. Bob mixes nine originals with five classics in what turns out to be an exciting and creative session. The intensity builds as they go and really starts to cook midway through. Bob’s work on piano is very good as is the work from Steve Millhouse (b) and Rob Schuh (d). They finish strongly with the ballad “Some Other Time” and then the upbeat “Blues For GR” leaving us feeling good.
