O’s Notes: This is Stanley’s first commercial contemporary jazz recording after leaving Blue Note In 1970. He employs Wilton Felder (b) and Freddy Robinson (g) to capture the soul/R&B groove of the time. Singer Gloria Lynne adds a couple of vocal tracks to cap off the set. This was the beginning of Stanley’s contemporary jazz period that was sandwiched by more straight ahead jazz at the dawn and sunset of his career.
