O’s Notes: Allen Austin-Bishop spreads his smokey, passionate vocals across eleven selections on Glory. These are blues-based ballads well paired for Bishop tone and range. His band, Dorian Ford (keyboards), Mao Yamada (b), James Edmunds (perc), Daniel Farris (g), and Katie Edwards (sax) are also in sync, providing complimentary rhythms in a supportive role. Collectively they present Allen’s best album to date! We liked “Groovejet”, “A Song for the Lovers”, and “The Sea” in a laid-back set.
