O’s Notes: Pairing two vibraphonists is unusual but appreciated on Glow, a tribute to the late vibes and marimba player, Dave Samuels. Both Friedman and Miceli are respected musicians and together they make a delightful performance. The duo has performed together on many occasions, and this is immediately evident as they seamlessly trade registers. Highlights are “Nature Boy”, “When You Wish Upon A Star”, “Falling Grace”, and “Noisy Blues”. We were impressed with the stickiness of the session and remained engaged end to end!
