O’s Notes: There is an interesting contrast here. On one hand (blue) we have upbeat tunes that are bubbly like “Soho Rag”. On the other hand (green) we have more tranquil selections like “While The Leaves Are Changing”. Claire’s (p) trio includes Stan Strickland (sax, cl, v) and Bob Weiner (d, perc). They do a nice job on Ritter’s compositions with a taste of ragtime, some traditional jazz and many peaceful ballads.
