O’s Notes: Havnarmenn is a quartet featuring vocals on “New Beginning”. There are five selections, almost 21 minutes of mixed relaxed, romantic pop ballads and cool instrumentals. We preferred the latter. Guitarist Sámal Linsenskov and Mortan Zachariassen on sax take the lead on “Chasing Sun” a head bobbing instrumental with cool hooks. We also enjoyed the soft funky undertones of “Thursday”. Those two tracks alone make this jazzy rock CD worthwhile!
