O’s Notes: Pianist Josean Jacobo leads a core trio with bassist Daroll Méndez and drummer Otoniel Nicolás. We loved the syncopated vibe on “Dos Locos” featuring Miguel Zenón on alto sax. The interplay between the trio, percussionist Magic Mejia and Felix Garcia (tambora) is excellent on ”Batey”. We also enjoyed “Cana Brava”.
