O’s Notes: Chico has hit us with strong recordings for Joyshout! in each of the last 3 years. This latest release continues a positive stream of good music. Chico’s drumbeats are strong and the rest of the band also makes a strong contribution. The sax of Eyan Schwan, guitar notes from Cary DeNigris and solid bass from Paul Ramsey make this a collective success. The music is varied in character, blues, bop and classic jazz, but always centered on a central accessible theme. Hamilton continues to churn out noteworthy music.
