O’s Notes: Lisa Rich is a vocal artist with an incredibly pleasant voice and strong rich tones. She was well on her was towards stardom in the late 1980s before having to halt her performing career because of health issues. She began teaching jazz, vocal artistry and also started physical therapy. Decades later she’s ready to re-engage her performing career. It starts with Highwire, recorded in 1987 and first released late in 2019. Lisa’s band includes Marc Copland (p), Drew Gress (b), Michael Smith (d) and David Kane (p on two tracks). Rich delivers a stunning performance of music mostly by Chick Corea. We anxiously welcome her return.
