O’s Notes: The trio is Ken Walker (b), Todd Reid (d) and Chip on piano. This is finger-popping music starting with Horace Siler’s “Cookin’ At The Continental”. They change pace on Chip’s own “Pretty Little Puppet” and settle down even more on “Smiles Surrender”. Walker gets in a bouncy solo on “Everything I Love” before Chip and Todd trade solos midstream. They are again cooking on Tyner’s “Passion Dance” No matter what they play; Stephens has a swinging style that livens it up.
