O’s Notes: This is a 2016 recording by trombonist, vocalist, composer, and producer, Wycliffe Gordon with his Internationally All Stars on I Give You Love. The rhythm section is Ehud Asherie (p), Yasushi Nakamura (b), and Alvin Atkinson, Jr. (d). Adrian Cunningham (cl, t-sax) adds vocals on three selections notably “When You’re Smiling”. The set is mostly ragtime jazz with a few warm ballads like Wycliffe’s “New Beauty’s In The Eye”. Other highlights are “Sweet Spot”, “I Give You Love”, and “Bourbon Street Parade”.
