O’s Notes: Vocalist Hannah Gill gets off of the Spooky Volumes and gives us a more personal, intimate set on I Like The Sunrise. There are eleven Ellington-inspired tunes delivered by a supporting band with Luis Salcedo (g), Ricky Alexander (sax), Phil Ambuel (b), and Adam Ray (d). We liked the southern bluesy feel of “I’m Just A Lucky So-and-So” and “I Ain’t Got Nothing But The Blues”. Salcedo plays a prominent role throughout, especially on “I Didn’t Know About You”, a duet, and “Do Nothing Till You Hear From Me”.
