O’s Notes: Actor and pianist Jeff Goldblum comes out of the shadows with I Shouldn’t Be Telling You This, his latest audio recording. It’s much better than the usual celebrity recording. Those jazz fans on the left coast may have caught Goldblum at LA’s Rockwell Table and Stage. His band is the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra and they provide a lot of swing and blues with Joe Bagg working the B3 on “The Cat” and “Driftin’”. Sharon van Etten is the featured vocalist on “Let’s Face The Music And Dance”. Gregory Porter takes the mic on “Make Someone Happy”. Fiona Apple shines on “Don’t Worry ‘Bout Me”. All told, Jeff’s effort is a good listen!
