O’s Notes: Vocalist Melinda Rose and pianist Frenchy Romero are lifetime friends celebrating a dream debut recording with I’m On My Way. Vince DuPont (b) and Matt Wilson (d) are the core accompaniment with trumpeter Summer Camaro appearing on two selections notably “Don’t Come Back”. The program is mostly standards with several originals penned by Rose. Neither headliner is bashful and they both shine on “Once Upon A Summertime” with Spanish and English lyrics. We also enjoyed “It Could Happen To You” and “You Can Have Him”.
