O’s Notes: This is contemporary saxophonist Mindi Abair’s latest release. It is packed with radio friendly pop beats layered with her catchy sax melodies. Among the best of the set are the opener “Any Way You Wanna” with cool sax dubs and a funky beat and the mysterious vibe of “L’Espirit Nouveau”. David Ryan Harris adds vocals on “Be Beautiful”. The best of the vocals was “It’s A Man’s, Man’s, Man’s World” featuring Lalah Hathaway with Abair adding passionate shadowing. That passion spilled into the “The Alley” for a strong finish.
