O’s Notes: DeeAnn combines contemporary, electronic rhythms with traditional vocals, giving us a novel attack for jazz ballads that is refreshing and rewarding. She has good tone, range, and a lot of passion. From “Killing Me Softly”, to “Sunshine” to “Fine And Mellow”, she tapped into a wide array of popular and jazzy tunes that will spark the memories of many in her audience. There’s also the blues based “Writing On The Wall”, a duet with Mick Hayes that rounds out a contemporary set of ballads.
