O’s Notes: The late French jazz pianist Michel Petrucciani is an excellent performer, on this outing, in a trio with bassist Gary Peacock and drummer Roy Haynes. The music is a wonderful live set captured at Copenhagen’s Jazzhus Montmartre on July 3rd, 1988. This previously unreleased session is spread across two discs with 12 selections that are simply delightful. Haynes shines on a nice rendition of “Giant Steps”, while Peacock stands tall on “It’s A Dance”. Petrucciani is masterful throughout.
