O’s Notes: Joel sings, plays piano and composed all of the music on Just The Way I’m Feeling…. The program is a mix of mild R&B, pop, jazz and gospel. He opens with “I Am Waiting”, a tight R&B laced mid-tempo ballad and keeps that groove flowing through “Sunday” and “Let’s Kiss and Make Up”. The mode shifts taking more of a pop flare on the title track then to smooth jazz for “Take a Ride” and wrapping up with two gospel selections. Gaines is a versatile artist cutting across many styles.
