O’s Notes: Pianist Bob James and saxophonist Dave Koz are household names for smooth jazz fans. While these proven contemporary jazz artists are showing some grey, their music remains potent and relevant. They released just us, an acoustic duo recording of eleven ballads and relaxing tunes. They sparkle absent a rhythm section, allowing the splendor of their instruments to shine. The exchanges are seamless, notably on “Fontaine d’Alice”, “Smile”, and “New Hope”. We reviewed the streaming version on our computer.
