O’s Notes: Pianist Larry McDonough leads a quartet with Dean White (d), Richard Carrol (sax), Greg Stinson (b) playing the music of the late Bill Evans. They open with one of his most popular tunes, “Waltz For Debbie” written for his niece, including rich, warm tenor from Carrol, and finish with a rousing rendition of “Milestones”. McDonough has been a student and disciple of Bill Evans from his childhood and is well respected as such. This is a thoughtful representation of some of the best music from Bill Evans‘ songbooks.
