O’s Notes: The King William Jazz Collective is one of San Antonio’s premier jazz bands. It was formed by Bill (William) King (sax, fl) three years ago to raise funds for drummer Gerry Gibbs who needed some dental work. They’ve since evolved to make this debut funded via Kick Starter. They really swing on songs like “Syeedas Song Flute”. The band is well integrated, crisp and has excellent tone and flow. Joan Carroll add vocals on a few selections to add yet another dimension and balance a fine performance.
