O’s Notes: French pianist Jacques Chanier’s trio includes drummer Brook Soffermann and Thompson Kneeland on bass. The latter two are solid musicians in their mid-20s showing lots of promise. Each member capitalizes on solo opportunities to display creative prowess during the ten Chanier compositions. The music races, dives, flutters and dances graciously as suggested by the title, Kite Flight.
