O’s Notes: Canadian vocalist Lezlie Harrison took a passive approach to American discrimination for most of her life before realizing that silence is passive approval. Although racism is not at the core of Let Them Talk, Leslie selects nine classics and challenges us to let the music and the words bring us closer together. Whether you get granular or not, the soulful exchange is a worthwhile experience. Ben Paterson mans the B3, Pete Zimmer plays drums, and producer Matt Chertkoff is on guitar. Harrison’s voice is warm rich and inviting. She’s preaching her message, and you’ll get that vibe on tunes like the title track.
