O’s Notes: Puerto Rican pianist Eddie Palmieri has been delighting Caribbean Jazz fans for decades and this is a continuation of that practice. The 10 songs are a combination of originals and some newly arranged covers. Eddie invites some of the best in the business to join him. Regina Carter (violin) solos on “In Flight”, Michael Brecker (sax) chips in on “Listen Here” and Nicholas Payton (t) solos on “EP Blues”. They play Afro-Cuban beats punctuated with crisp brass accents and play it well.
