O’s Notes: The band has a swinging character with warm brass harmonies and counter accents. All of the spontaneity is captured in this live recording. Among the broad base of talent in the band are Christian Jacob (p), Carl Saunders (t) and Doug Webb (sax). The music program was a part of a tribute to Maynard Ferguson, hence the emphasis on energetic brass. It is powerful, punctuated and pleasurable listening!
