O’s Notes: Drummer Gerry Gibbs leads the 18-piece Thrasher Big Band. They play ten unique arrangements of all types of jazz. Among the best are The Brecker Brothers’ “Some Skunk Funk”, “You’ve Changed” and “Playing The Field” both featuring Joan Carroll. We also dug “And That’s Why They Call It The Blues”. Hats off to Gerry for stretching the envelope a bit with his large ensemble.
