O’s Notes: Jessica Jones plays tenor sax. Mark Taylor plays French horn. They combine as a quartet with Jason Lewis (d) and John Shifflet (b). The drum solos are powerful and the brass speaks volumes while Shifflet holds it all together. The music is fresh modern jazz with elements of bebop and avant-garde. The quiet and cool session was recorded live at the Freight & Salvage Coffeehouse in California.
