O’s Notes: Polished vocalist Anne Phillips revisits standards from her 1959 debut recording Born To Be Blue along with some of her original works. She’s mastered her signature over the years and remains fluid, crisp and very warm. She performs with her husband Bob Kindred (t-sax), Roger Kellaway (p) and Chuck Berghoffer (b). They recorded the set LIVE at The Jazz Bakery in Los Angeles. Don’t dismiss this one as a late set from aged musicians. These cats all have a lot of juice and deliver an entertaining performance, delighting their audience with songs like “New York Night Time Blues” and “Another Day Without Him”
