O’s Notes: Guitarist, composer/arranger Doug MacDonald recorded Live at the Rancho Mirage Library with his working trio including Larry Holloway (b) and Tim Pleasant (d). They have worked together for the past decade in the Coachella Valley. They perform ten classics with the addition of special guest Big Black (Djembé). He adds a good solo on “Lady Bird”. We liked the Honky-tonk groove of “Caitlin’s Con Carne”, and “If You Could See Me Now” featuring MacDonald.
